When Verbasync Inc works with covered entities or business associates under HIPAA, we aim to support appropriate contractual and operational safeguards, including business associate obligations where applicable.

Not every use of Amigo is subject to HIPAA. Whether HIPAA applies depends on the customer, the data involved, and the relationship between the parties. Consumer family use may be governed by privacy laws and our policies rather than HIPAA.

Amigo may process sensitive personal information, including conversation content, wellness-related observations, contact details, and family updates. We treat this information with care and limit access based on operational need.

We do not use Amigo as an emergency monitoring, clinical diagnosis, treatment, or medication management service.

We use safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest, manage access, monitor systems, and reduce the risk of unauthorized disclosure.

We review vendors and infrastructure providers for security expectations appropriate to the services they provide, and we work to keep internal access limited to people and systems that need it.

Family members, caregivers, and invited participants may receive summaries or updates based on account settings, permissions, and the nature of the service.

Customers should configure access thoughtfully and avoid inviting people who should not receive sensitive updates or story content.

We maintain processes for reviewing suspected security incidents, limiting harm, restoring service, and providing required notifications when applicable.
